Suit Up Winnipeg is a volunteer organization that helps high school students obtain a suit for their graduation. Dana and her team provide a fantastic service and over the past two years 8 JT students have received free suits, tuxedos, shirts, shoes, ties etc.
They are currently accepting donations at Virgin Radio station on Pembina Hwy and at all Perth's locations in Winnipeg. Please bring in your gently used men's formal/business wear (shoes, socks, shirts, ties, and accessories needed) to help dress our upcoming grads! We are also looking for donations of garment racks and some shelving to display the items. We also need volunteers to make a committee and to help sort through all the items being donated. If you or anyone you know is looking to help out an amazing cause let me know! Or they can email me at [email protected] This is why Winnipeg is an awesome place to live. Our JTC Global Issues class will once again be working with Habitat for Humanity to build a house in St. James. Our students raised $537.45 for our Habitat Build!
They will use the $500 for Habitat and the extra money to buy socks etc. for Siloam Mission. Thanks to Ms. Peters and her class for the great idea and excellent work and to all those that donated. Great Job Pipers! Due to her recent outstanding achievement on Fermat, the national grade 11 mathematics contest, Linhui Huang has been invited to attend the University of Waterloo's Invitational Mathematics Workshop at the end of May. It is a prestigious honour to be invited to meet and work with members of the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo. Congratulations!
