Just a reminder to staff and students. Please return any library materials, texts books not needed for exams, uniforms etc. to the appropriate staff member. You may still use your locker up until the end of day today but after that they must have the lock locked on the hasp(door open) so we can start locker cleaning for next year.

There will be a year end BBQ today at noon. $3.00 will get you a hamburger or hotdog, chips, drink and watermelon. Come out to the courtyard and join us at lunchtime.

St James Minor Baseball is looking for volunteers for a variety of duties during Baseball provincial Championships at Optimist Park in St James on July 14-16 and August 4-6.
Duties will include working in the canteen, selling gate entry passes, score keeping, pitch counting, etc. Training will be provided.

Voyageur Elementary School is looking for volunteers to help with their annual school BBQ.
Volunteers would help run game stations, food distribution and face painting.
The BBQ will take place tomorrow, June 15th from 4-6pm. If any students are interested, they can sign up at the office or see Ms. Grant as soon as possible.

The Klinic will be in for a presentation today at 1:15. This presentation is open to all students. Students will be responsible for the work they miss in their period 5 class.
This workshop helps youth to understand that mental health is a continuum that ranges from mental wellness to mental illness. We will look at some common signs of anxiety and depression as well as stress. We will practice a few stress-reducing tools. We address stigma associated with mental distress as well as suicide, explore self-care and coping strategies as well as where to get support and resources.

St James Minor Baseball is looking for volunteers for a variety of duties during Baseball provincial championships at Optimist Park in St James on July 14-16 and August 4-6.
Duties will include working in the canteen, selling gate entry passes, score keeping, pitch counting, etc. Training will be provided.

The Klinic will be in for a presentation today at 1:15. This presentation is open to all students. Students will be responsible for the work they miss in their period 5 class.
This workshop helps youth to understand that mental health is a continuum that ranges from mental wellness to mental illness. We will look at some common signs of anxiety and depression as well as stress. We will practice a few stress-reducing tools. We address stigma associated with mental distress as well as suicide, explore self-care and coping strategies as well as where to get support and resources.

Attention all Pipers. Wednesday, February 22nd is National Pink Shirt Day. On this day, we wear pink to stand together against bullying. This day will be held as a grade war challenge and is worth double the winning points. The grade to have the most students wearing pink will win the challenge, and has the opportunity to take the lead. Currently in 4th place is Grade 11, 2nd place is grade 10, and tied for first is our grade 9's and grade 12's.

Thanks to all classes for participating in our Holiday Trivia Grade Challenge. In 4th place was grade 11's, 3rd place went to grade 12's in 2nd place were the grade 9's and Congratulations to our Winners, in 1st place, Grade 10.
The overall standings for our Grade War Challenge is Grade 11 in 4th place, Grade 10's and 12's are tied for 2nd, and our Grade 9's are leading the way into the New Year. More Grade level challenges to come in 2017!

Practice Gratitude
Noticing and appreciating the positives in our lives offers a great mood boost.
To increase your gratefulness, you can:
- Write a gratitude letter. Researcher Martin Seligman, PhD, asked subjects to write a letter thanking someone who had been particularly kind to them and then deliver it in person. The letter-writers enjoyed impressive positive effects even a month later.
- Keep a gratitude journal.

If we don't get 30 people attending, the night will be cancelled.

Take Pride Winnipeg is looking for Snow Angels to shovel driveways and walk ways for Seniors in our area, this is a great program for our students to get volunteer hours. Please pick up information sheets in the main office on the counter or from Mr. Johnson and Mrs Grant in the guidance center.
